A Speaker Who
Lives the Story

Shaun Hern doesn't show up with a polished talk about what faith should look like. He shows up with the same tired, honest story his audience is living — and the grace to say out loud what everyone in the room is quietly feeling.

What Makes This Different

Event planners book Shaun because he gives audiences something they rarely get from a stage — an honest voice that sounds exactly like what they feel at 2am.

He Is His Audience

Shaun is a 61-year-old single dad raising two neurodivergent kids. He's not speaking about caregiving — he's living it. The exhaustion, the grace, the small miracles. He speaks from inside the room, not above it.

Published Author

Two published books with five more in development. The depth and specificity of a working author — not a motivational speaker with a borrowed story. Every talk draws directly from published, peer-reviewed material.

Faith Without Performance

No hype. No manufactured emotion. Shaun brings Scripture down to floor level — where caregivers actually live — and trusts it to do its own work. Audiences leave feeling seen, not performed at.

Adaptable to Any Room

Church congregation, autism fair, hospital caregiver program, or parent conference — Shaun calibrates every talk to the specific audience. He doesn't give the same speech twice.

Effortless to Work With

No rider. No green room demands. No slide deck crisis. Shaun shows up prepared, on time, and flexible — and he stays after to talk with the people who need it most.

Books for Your Attendees

Every speaking engagement can include signed copies of Shaun's books for attendees — creating a lasting resource that extends the message long after the event ends.

Four Talks. Real People. Real Problems.

Each talk is a fully developed product — not a subject description. Here's exactly what your audience will experience.

01 ⭐ Signature Talk Faith & Endurance

"Still Showing Up"

20–45 min Any venue
Best for: Caregiver conferences, autism & disability fairs, church family events, special needs parent groups

"The problem isn't that you're failing. It's that nobody told you how holy it is just to still be here."

  • Why endurance — not excellence — is the real spiritual discipline of caregiving
  • How to locate God's presence in the ordinary mess instead of waiting for the miracle
  • Three practical anchors for the days when willpower runs out

  • Why God uses the most unlikely seasons to do His deepest work in us
  • Finding humor as a spiritual practice when the alternative is crying

  • Practical faith tools for parents navigating systems that weren't built for their child
  • How to make decisions under pressure without losing your emotional foundation
  • Scripture as a daily anchor — not a greeting card — for special needs caregivers

04 Faith & Humility

"Human Trying"

25–50 min Church, retreat
Best for: Church retreats, men's groups, faith communities, community outreach events

"We talk about faith like it's a destination. But most of us are just trying to live it out before coffee — in a world that's messy, mixed, and doesn't slow down."

  • Why God doesn't need us impressive — just available
  • How humility, patience, and obedience are built in the ordinary moments nobody notices
  • Moving from performance-based faith to presence-based faith

From the People Who Booked Him

An event organizer's job is to know whether a speaker will serve their audience. Here's what the ones who booked Shaun said afterward.

Shaun had our audience in tears and laughing within five minutes of each other. That's a rare gift. He stayed two hours after the event talking with families — nobody asked him to. That's who he is.

Speaking

We booked Shaun expecting a good talk. What we got was a room full of people who finally felt like someone understood their life. Multiple attendees asked if he could come back.

Speaking

His session was the most talked-about of our entire weekend. Not because it was polished — because it was true. He doesn't perform. He just shows up and tells the truth, and somehow that's exactly what the room needed.

Shaun Hern

Author · Speaker · GrandpaDad

Long bio (200 words): Shaun Hern is a faith-based memoirist, devotional author, and speaker known for his disarmingly honest voice and his refusal to make faith sound easier than it is. At 61, he is a single dad to two neurodivergent children — a nonverbal daughter and an endlessly verbal toddler son — and draws directly from that life in everything he writes and speaks.

Author of GrandpaDad Adventures: Chaos, Coffee, and Grace-Filled Parenting at 61 and Guide My Decisions. Steady My Emotions., with five additional titles in development, Shaun has built a following among caregivers, later-in-life parents, and believers who are tired of polished answers to real problems. His writing and speaking bring Scripture down to floor level — pairing passages like Psalm 121 and 2 Corinthians 12 with Publix meltdowns, blue-paint disasters, and 2am worry spirals.

Shaun speaks at caregiver conferences, autism and disability fairs, churches, men's retreats, and parent support groups. He is available for keynotes, workshops, breakout sessions, and chapel messages.

Short bio (50 words): Shaun Hern is the author of GrandpaDad Adventures and a speaker who brings Scripture down to floor level. A 61-year-old single dad to two neurodivergent kids, he speaks at caregiver conferences, churches, and autism events — always from the inside of the life he's describing.
